Torqeedo motor coverage is separate from POP board and dock coverage. The Travel series carries a 2-year limited warranty for non-commercial use. Confirm the terms, registration, and region that apply to your purchase.
Torqeedo Travel S questions
The 8' Battle Boat and 8' Battle Cat both list a 6 HP maximum and a 15-inch transom, which puts the 3 HP equivalent Travel S comfortably below the ceiling. The 10' Battle Boat and 10' Battle Cat list a 10 HP maximum with the same 15-inch transom, a comfortable mid-power match. The 12' Battle Boat and 12' Battle Cat list a 20 HP maximum: the Travel S moves those well with a light crew and cruises easily with more aboard. None of these is an automatic fit approval: check your exact boat, motor weight, mounting, and total load.
The Essential package pairs the motor with the 1080 Wh Travel battery, the lighter and lower-cost setup for regular tender runs. The Range package steps up to the 1425 Wh Travel XP battery for about a third more range on the same trips. Both batteries click on with no cables and charge from the included 180 W charger. If you already own a compatible Torqeedo Travel battery, the motor-only option skips the extra pack. Match the package to your normal trip length.
The short shaft measures 62.5 cm and suits a transom of about 15 inches, which covers inflatables and most tenders. The long shaft measures 75 cm and suits a transom of about 20 inches, for daysailers and deeper transoms. Measure straight down from the top of your transom to the lowest point of the hull and match the shaft to it. When in doubt between sizes, the longer shaft is the safer pick.
Range depends on speed, load, hull, and conditions. Published testing on a 3.8-meter inflatable tender with the 1080 Wh battery shows about 22 km at a slow cruise, about 15 km at half throttle, and about 8.5 km at full throttle. Your boat and load will differ, and the onboard display calculates live remaining range from your actual running. Slowing down extends range substantially.
The included 180 W charger refills the 1080 Wh Essential battery in about six hours from empty, and the 1425 Wh Range battery takes proportionally longer. The batteries also support solar charging with compatible panels, and the battery management system monitors the pack while it charges.
Yes. The motor weighs about 11.6 kg (25.6 lbs) without the battery, and the battery clicks off for separate carrying. That split makes it easy for one adult to move the motor and battery down a dock or from a vehicle to the transom.
